Details

We are looking for assistance in a research project, where we want to study how designers transition iteratively from a problem space (user research) to a solution space (creating a product or a service) when working on a project that involves research (user research, comparative research, literature search, etc.). With this project, we wish to create resources to help professional and student designers during this process.

We believe this project will include:

  • A literature review of this topic
  • An inventory and a comparative analysis of existing tools and resources
  • The creation of tools and resources.
  • Potentially a publication or a presentation for that phase of the research

After this phase of the project is completed, the tools created will be used in an educational setting to study how they are used by designers and how they affect their design process.

Deliverables
  • Complete a literature review on the coevolution of problems and solutions in the design process.
  • Create an inventory and a comparative analysis of existing tools and resources.
  • Help create tools (templates, sheets, workshops, etc.) to help students in their design process.
Mentorship

The student will discuss with the researchers on a regular basis (weekly or every 2 weeks).
