Level UP - Riipen and Community Engaged Learning Project Support
Positions available: 1 The Careers & Experience team at MacEwan University is looking for a team player who is able to provide Riipen support as it relates to community engaged learning projects occurring in a variety of fall 2021 courses. Community-engaged learning happens when students works with a community partner to apply what they are learning in a course to solve a problem or meet a challenge that organization is facing within a semester-long course. This will be a 6 week project starting in July and ending in mid August (there is flexibility around how the 80 hours will be distributed over the 6 week period). This project will run concurrently with MacEwanLife project support. Duties include, but are not limited to: Riipen support for fall classes (community engaged learning projects), and assisting the Experiential Learning Facilitator with: Creating course project RFPs for community partners Uploading course project descriptions Assist responding to community partner and faculty questions Help onboard community partners onto Riipen

Positions available: 115 December 2021 - January 2022 10 hours/week for 8 weeks All first-year students will be grouped in cohorts based on faculty or program and will be assigned an upper year student as a mentor. The start of the term is when most students need support; a mentor will organize virtual meetings, activities and socials while providing guidance for a smooth transition to university life. Mentors will: Get thorough mentorship training and knowledge of MacEwan student services Enhance their leadership skills through positive role modelling Add to your career profile and gain a co-curricular record position Contribute to a positive campus culture experience

Project 3 Title: Social Media Content Development Time: August (approx. 20 hrs/week) Tasks/Goals: - Identify key opportunities, themes and times for specific, relevant content throughout school year - Research and develop new digital content to highlight stories and experiences of students (i.e., digital storytelling) - Identify and develop appropriate content for career development topics

Level UP- MacEwan Emerging Leaders Community Engaged Project
Positions available: 30 May 15 - July 9 2021 10 hours/week for 8 weeks This section of the series focuses on students applying the the leadership knowledge they gained in the personal and group sessions to real-life problems that our community is facing. Community engagement is collaboration based on mutually beneficial exchange of knowledge, experiences and resources between students and community partners. Students can use this experience to help explore possible career directions and establish professional networks. Training from the Social Innovation Institute will focus on systems thinking, human-centered design and project management strategies.

Level UP - Engage MacEwan Event Support
Positions available: 1 We are hosting an event on May 6th from 10:30 am – 1:00 pm called Engage MacEwan which is a networking event for instructors and community partners. The event's focus will be to identify potential community/course matches for the Fall 2021 and Winter 2022 semesters after learning about the best ways to collaborate. Instructors from across all programs and faculties will provide a brief overview of the type of community partnerships they are looking for followed by network sessions between community partners and instructors to discuss collaboration opportunities. We are looking for a student to support the logistics of the virtual platform, Symplicity, that the event will be hosted on. The student will be trained on the Symplicity platform by the Careers & Experience team. This will be a 2 week project, 40 hours each week from April 26th - May 7th, 2021. The student must be available to work on event day, May 6th from 8:00 am - 2:00 pm. We are looking for a detail oriented team player who is a people person and enjoys working with technology! Professional, written, oral and virtual communication skills will be essential to this role. Duties may include, but are not limited to: Working with professors to input project descriptions into Symplicity Assist community partners in creating their Symplicity profile and booth Provide assistance to the Careers & Experience in hosting Symplicity training sessions Being available to answer e-mails related to Symplicity questions May include working the virtual help booth the day of the event Attend virtual planning meets and take notes Prepare and share event debrief notes

Level UP Social Media Support (DEMO1)
Positions available: 1 The Careers and Experience team is looking for a social media marketing wizard who can help us drive more traffic and improve our SEO positioning. The primary project requirements include: Keyword analysis to determine relevant search terms to our organization A strategy document to outline: Search Engine Optimization (SEO) requirements to ensure our organization appears on the first page of Google for relevant keywords Social media requirements to increase the number of followers/likes and share Content Calendar Execution: Timely deployment of all our social media content to drive maximum traffic to our site Creating engaging content for prominent media websites Working with tools and programs such as Canva, Instagram and Facebook We’re excited to work with a MacEwan student who can help us not only brainstorm, but also execute a strategy to achieve to create a greater awareness of the Level UP program to the MacEwan student body. This is a great project for students to prove their digital marketing expertise to future employers, as the impact of their work on this project can be easily measured and communicated.
